Paying for your test

Test fees are determined by the test centre location, not on place of residence or nationality.

The costs for candidates for the 2021-22 LNAT are:

75 GBP – at UK/EU test centres

120 GBP – at test centres outside the EU

How to pay

cardlogos

The test fee is payable online, at the time of booking a test, by major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, JCB) or Visa and MasterCard debit cards only as long as they do not require a pin number validation.

Credit Card Verification Issues

Candidates paying for their test in one of the following countries must pay using an LNAT voucher (see below) and will not be able to pay their test fee by credit or debit card (this is irrespective of where they want to sit the test, or if their credit card is provided by a bank in a different country).

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Cameroon, Gambia, Ghana, Iran, Kenya, Lebanon, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda.

Because of problems with international card verification, Switch/Maestro debit cards are currently not accepted as a form of payment.  Candidates without access to a major credit card or debit card can apply for an LNAT voucher (see below).

The fee is always charged in GBP (pounds sterling). If you have a non-UK credit card, your credit card company will bill you according to its own rules for foreign transactions.

For candidates with financial constraints, a bursary system is available (see below).

LNAT Bursary

The LNAT bursary scheme is available to candidates struggling to pay for their LNAT test. Test fees will be waived for UK/EU students in receipt of certain state benefits. Candidates must apply for their bursary before booking their LNAT.

It could take at least a week to process a bursary application from the date of receipt. Candidates must allow for this extra time when planning their LNAT booking.

For more information on applying for a bursary please read the detail information about LNAT bursaries.

LNAT Vouchers

Candidates who don’t have access to a major credit card or Visa debit card, can apply for an LNAT voucher which will enable them to process their test booking online.  Candidates can send a cheque (or make a bank transfer, or use cash) in exchange for an electronic voucher. The voucher number is entered online at the time of registration.

Candidates using any money transfer method that results in LNAT receiving banking charges will see the same amount deducted from their account.  They should allow for this when making the initial transfer as vouchers will not be released until full payment of the test fee has been received.

It could take at least a week to process a voucher application from the date of receipt. Candidates must allow for this extra time when planning their LNAT bookings.

For more information on applying for a voucher please read the detail information about LNAT vouchers.

Rescheduling policy

Candidates can reschedule their test without charge up to 12 noon (UK time) on the second working day before the currently scheduled date of your test. (Working days are Monday to Friday excluding English Bank Holidays.)

Candidates will be unable to reschedule their test after this point and will have to rebook and pay for their test again.   Payments are not refunded in the event that candidates decide not to sit the LNAT at all. Please note that these terms and conditions also apply if using a voucher or bursary to pay for a test.
